Ghosts of our Fathers

In the last three years, we have lost two men very close to us: Zachary’s father James E. Kerr, and Samuel’s step-father Robert C. Dayle. This two song release is a tribute to their memory. Ghost of Our Fathers is a look at the new era of Anagnorisis, while using the recurring themes of black and death metal that have defined our music over the past nine years.

As the term “anagnorisis” represents self-discovery and awareness, band members Zachary Kerr and Samuel Hartman each crafted the lyrics to the new songs – Clan of Kerr and Only Suffering is Free – fueled by the idea that each is a cleansing of the grief that comes with death. Musically we owe much to our guitarist, Zak Denham, who spent long hours writing, recording, and programming these songs. The music is intense, aggressive, and showcases the direction of our next full length planned for release in 2013.

No one likes dormancy, and we give our heartfelt thanks to our fans that have stuck with us and waited patiently for the return of this band. Just as our lives would not be shaped without our fathers, our band’s success would nothing without our supporters.
